Tom Planavsky

Hi everyone, I am Tom Planavsky III, the owner and license holder for Thomas & Sons Electrical Contractor. I have been in the construction industry in a variety of roles for the past 15+ years before making the decision in August 2023 to start my own electrical contractor. Throughout my career I have held a variety of roles from electrical superintendent working for a regional electrical contractor, a project manager for a national electrical contractor, a project manager for a large commercial general contractor, and as an MEP consultant for airport construction. 

My passion has always been in electrical since I was a small child. Growing up I early exposure to the electrical industry with my father working his career as a general foreman for an electrical contractor in NY. I remember stopping to see him at work and helping out on small home projects at a very young age. This continued on as a grew up, working with him while on school breaks in college. In 2015 I moved to Charlotte to take a job with an electrical contractor here. After moving from the electrical to the general contracting world in 2019, I quickly realized how much I missed being in the electrical field. So in August 2023 I decided to go out on my own and launched Thomas & Sons Electrical Contractor.
